You can now search for things offline on Google (technically)

The Google app can now search for things offline on Android.

We don't mean that there's some hidden genie in your phone that has all the details of everything on Google ready for you to access. What we do mean is that when your internet connection is too slow, the Google app will queue up your searches and deliver them later when your internet connection is back online.

Shekhar Sharad, a Google product manager, writes this in a blog post:
So the next time you lose service, feel free to queue up your searches, put your phone away and carry on with your day. The Google app will work behind-the-scenes to detect when a connection is available again and deliver your search results once completed.
He also states that the new feature will not drain battery and will have minimal impact on data usage.

Here's how the feature works from the blog post:

(It's really creepy that the GIF displays weather reports of where my school is located)

Your queued searches can be infinite and can be found under the new Manage Searches option in the Google app. You can also turn off offline retrieval if you want. Still waiting for the feature to reach iOS devices.
