LineageOS (CyanogenMod's successor) is out now

For 8 years, CyanogenMod was the leading custom ROM maker for Android. Then all that changed when CyanogenMod announced shutdown of its services which lead to a group of former Cyanogen Inc. employees bring up LineageOS (a sort-of successor to CyanogenMod).

But now LineageOS is up and ready for download. It's based on Android Nougat and Marshmallow builds. These are the devices you can flash it to:

  • Nexus 5X
  • Nexus 7 2013
  • Nexus 6P
  • Moto E
  • Moto X Pure
  • Moto G4/G4 Plus
  • Nextbit Robin
  • LG G2/G3
  • OnePlus One
  • Samsung S3
  • Xiaomi Redmi 1S
Don't worry if your device isn't among this list as LineageOS plans on making builds for 100+ more devices.

LineageOS is surely the way to go after the crash of CyanogenMod. The group says it'll aim for weekly updates from now on. It'll nice to see where LineageOS takes off from here on out.
