Square Enix teams up with Marvel to make an Avengers game

Yesterday Marvel and Square Enix posted in separate tweets there was an announcement they were going to make on January 26th.

Well, now they've announced it.

Square Enix (Best known for the Final Fantasy games) and Marvel have announced a multi-company partnership to make something known as "The Avengers Project".

Here's the trailer:

We can see a lot of hints of Marvel heroes like Iron Man's gauntlet.

Thor's Hammer and others.

But everything looks so dark and gloomy. And then we're given hope as it seems like their mission is not to assemble but reassemble.

It also seems that a lot of big name companies are going to work on the project such as Crystal Dynamics (Rise of the Tomb Raider) and Eidos Montreal (Deus Ex: Mankind Divided).
The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come."
According to that description, we're getting a lot of Avengers related games that are going to be set in the same universe just like we see in the movies (Marvel Cinematic Universe).

But unfortunately, it seems we're going to have to wait until 2018 to get more info on the project. That gives us plenty of time to speculate though!

The next entries in the MCU movie lineup are Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, May 5th, 2017 and Avengers: Infinity War, May 4th, 2018.
